Lloyd International Honors College invites students to apply for admission once they have already been accepted for admission to UNCG.

Eligibility: You are eligible to join the International Honors Program if you have a weighted high school GPA of at least 3.80, a combined score on two portions of the SAT (critical reading + mathematics) of at least 1200, or an ACT composite score of at least 27.
Deadline: Applications from incoming freshmen are rolling.

Deadline: Applications for the International Honors program from current freshmen are accepted until May 15, 2010. In order for the Honors office to process your application in a timely manner, please submit all materials well before the closing date.

You may apply for admission to the Disciplinary Honors Program if you have a cumulative UNCG GPA of 3.30 or higher. You are encouraged to speak with the Honors Adviser or with the Honors Liaison in your department or program about its specific Disciplinary Honors Program requirements.

You are welcome to take Honors courses and participate in Honors extra-curricular activities while at UNCG. If you are interested in taking Honors courses at UNCG you need to notify both the LIHC office and the International Programs Center.
Petitioning: If you are an incoming first-year student who does not meet one or more of the criteria for admission, but believe you belong in the Honors College, you may petition for admission. Petitions are evaluated by the Director of the Lloyd International Honors College. Your petition should include a cover letter of no more than two typed, double-spaced pages. Remember to include your name and UNCG student ID number at the top of the page. In the essay, tell us a bit about yourself, in particular your interest in living and studying abroad in a culture different from your own. Explain why you believe that you would succeed in the Honors Program despite not meeting at this time the Honors College criteria (ACT, SAT, or high school weighted GPA). Please illustrate your statement with examples of your high school achievements, including classes, activities and part-time work, where relevant. Feel free to include other information you think would be helpful to the Director in evaluating your petition.
