Dr. Charles Egeland is a paleoanthropologist whose research centers on the evolution of human behavior. He directs field projects in Tanzania, where his teams are uncovering evidence for the earliest humans around 2 million years ago, and Armenia, where the artifacts of Neanderthals and their contemporaries are providing insight into the origins of modern humans around 200,000 years ago.
