Eloise Hassell, J.D.

Eloise McCain Hassell hails from Wilson, North Carolina. Hassell is an award-winning educator with more than 30 years of teaching experience at UNCG. Her many accolades — including two university-level teaching excellence awards, YES! Weekly’s 2013 Triad’s Best College Instructor honor and earning the UNCG Bryan School Teaching Excellence Award six times since 1998 — are one visible symbol of her teaching excellence. She is married to N.C. Superior Court Mediator and Emergency N.C. Superior Court Judge Robby Hassell, and they are the proud parents of two daughters. Eloise graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.A. in History and from Wake Forest University School of Law with a Juris Doctor. In 2021, a new teaching award in the Bryan School of Business and Economics was established in her honor entitled the Eloise McCain Hassell Teaching Excellence Award for professional development.

She serves as a member of the Honors Council.
