Residential Colleges and Communities
Residential Colleges and Communities
Lloyd International Honors College students can join one of four themed Residential Colleges (RCs)—welcoming to all majors. Each RC is a living-learning community with on-site classes, advisors, events, and social activities, bringing together students with shared academic interests or passions.
First-year Honors students living on campus are strongly encouraged to choose a Residential College for easier access to events and community life. Honors students may room with a non-Honors roommate, and commuters are welcome in all Honors programs.
Additionally, incoming students not applying for admission to the Honors College may apply to live in one of the four Residential Colleges.

Applying for RESIDENTIAL COlleges or Honors Housing
You are strongly encouraged to live in one of the four Residential Colleges (North Spencer, South Spencer, Ashby, and Strong) if you are living on campus.
- Upon admission to Lloyd International Honors College, you must confirm your acceptance to the Honors College.
- You will need to fill out a UNCG housing application, including the Housing prepayment fee. The application for new students will be open online from February to May.
- Incoming Honors students who have fully completed their Housing application may select their room during the Self-Assign period in late April, as communicated by Housing and Residence Life.
- Once you confirm your acceptance to Honors, Lloyd International Honors College will inform Housing and Residence Life that you are eligible for Honors Housing. After receiving confirmation, Housing and Residence Life will open Honors Housing to you in Artemis so that you may Self Assign to a Residential College when Self Assign opens.
- Students who confirm acceptance to the Honors College, apply for housing, and pay their $200 prepay earlier rather than later will be given access earlier in the Self Assign process. This is important because Honors Housing is first-come, first-served and space in your first choice of Residential College may be unavailable later in the Self-Assign process.
If you’d like to live in the Honors Residential Colleges with a non-Honors roommate, you may pull them into your room via Artemis.
- If you have been admitted to UNCG and wish to live in a Residential College without being admitted to the Honors College, you must apply here
