Honors Symposium
The Honors Symposium offers outstanding undergraduates at UNCG and other area Honors Programs and Colleges the opportunity to participate in an academic conference with concurrent sessions. Each student presents a ten-minute paper which is followed by a question and answer period. The 20th Annual Undergraduate Honors Symposium is held in Spring each year, virtually and in the Elliott University Center.
Faculty can get involved by:
- Offering to serve as chairs at the Symposium.
- Attending the Symposium and encouraging students to attend as well.
The Honors Symposium Prize, sponsored by UNCG’s Lloyd International Honors College, is awarded for outstanding papers submitted to the Symposium. The prize, dedicated to the encouragement of high quality academic writing at UNCG, typically includes monetary awards of $250, $150, and $100 in three categories: Arts & Humanities, Sciences & Professional Schools, and Visiting Non-UNCG papers.
For more information about the Symposium, students and faculty may contact the Honors College at 336-334-5538 or by email at honorscollege@uncg.edu.
