Mars Stephens (They/Them/She/Her) is the Graduate Assistant for the North and South Spencer Residential Colleges. They are currently pursuing their Master of Arts in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Mars is a recent graduate of UNC Greensboro, with a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and minors in American Sign Language (ASL), Business, and History earned in Spring 2025. Mars is also an alumna of the Lloyd International Honors College! Mars graduated with Full University Honors during their time as an undergraduate student.
In their role as a Graduate Assistant for the North and South Spencer Residential Colleges, Mars helps support both the Program Managers for the North and South Spencer Residential Colleges. Mars also assists with the Disciplinary Honors program of the Lloyd International Honors College.
In Mars’ academics, they are interested in transnational and postcolonial feminisms, queer and trans theory, and how social media impacts and shapes feminist thought, spaces, and activism.
Outside of UNC Greensboro, Mars loves to cuddle with their cat, Jasper, care for their plants, hike, drink too much tea, and obsess over makeup!
