About the Journal

Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon) is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal published by the Lloyd International Honors College at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. It highlights exceptional research by undergraduate and graduate students, as well as early-career researchers, from various disciplines, including the natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and applied sciences. Guided by a collaborative editorial team of students and faculty, the journal provides a platform for emerging scholars to showcase their work. Named in honor of UNC Greensboro alumna Rebecca Lloyd, whose Welsh heritage is symbolized by the red dragon, the journal fosters intellectual exchange and mentorship within a dynamic academic community. 

Call for Papers 

In an era defined by rapid technological advancements, the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Humanity has become one of the most pressing and transformative topics of our time. AI is no longer just a tool—it is reshaping how we live, work, and interact with the world. From revolutionizing healthcare and education to raising profound ethical questions about privacy, bias, and the future of work, AI is at the heart of both opportunity and challenge. 

As we stand on the brink of a new technological frontier, it is essential to ask: How can we ensure that AI serves humanity equitably? What are the ethical, social, and cultural implications of AI’s growing influence? And how can we harness its potential to create a better future for all? 

On behalf of the Lloyd International Honors College, we are thrilled to invite you to submit a paper for our upcoming Special Edition of Y Ddraig Goch: An Interdisciplinary Honors Journal. This edition will focus on the dynamic and multifaceted relationship between AI and Humanity, providing a platform for interdisciplinary research from undergraduate and graduate students, as well as early-career researchers 

We encourage submissions that explore diverse perspectives on AI, including but not limited to: 

Your work has the power to spark meaningful conversations, challenge assumptions, and inspire new ways of thinking. By sharing your research, you will contribute to a growing dialogue about how we can shape AI to reflect our shared values and aspirations.

Submission Guidelines 

To ensure your manuscript is considered for publication in Y Ddraig Goch: An Interdisciplinary Honors Journal, follow these requirements: 

1. Required Information: 

· Include your name, department/program, and email. 

· If applicable, provide the name and email address of your faculty mentor. 

2. Manuscript Structure: 

· Include sections such as Abstract, Introduction, Methods (or Methodology), Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and either Bibliography (for Notes and Bibliography style) or References (for Author-Date style). 

· Include Figures and/or Tables as applicable. 

3. Citations and Formatting: 

· Follow the appropriate Chicago Style (either Notes and Bibliography or Author-Date) based on the type of article, as outlined in the template. 

· If using Notes and Bibliography, include footnotes and a bibliography. If using Author-Date, include in-text citations and a reference list. 

· Ensure the manuscript is double-spaced, in Times New Roman 12pt, with 3-cm margins. 

4. Language and Proofreading: 

· Manuscripts must be copyedited and free of errors.

Publication Agreement 

For transparency and to protect the rights of both contributors and the journal, all contributors must review and sign the publication agreement before their manuscript is reviewed. Please download and read the agreement below before submitting your manuscript. After submitting your manuscript, you will receive a copy of this agreement via email to sign.
