How did you know the Honors College was right for you?
I knew the Honors College was the right fit for me because it would challenge me academically, allow me to travel internationally while a student, and provide me with opportunities to get involved in the local Greensboro community. I felt very supported by the people and resources at the Honors College; I felt as though they really did want to help me be successful and productive while at UNCG.
What has been your favorite Honors experience so far?
My favorite experience so far in the Honors College has been my brief time spent in Perth, Australia as part of a study abroad program. I got the opportunity to spend two months studying at Edith Cowan University in Perth and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I met some amazing friends and got to immerse myself in a new culture, which has allowed my perspective on life to become more globally-oriented. This opportunity was largely made possible by the encouragement and generosity of the Honors College, and traveling internationally while in college is something I would strongly recommend to any student.
What does “Honors” mean to you now that you are here at UNCG?
During my time at UNCG, “Honors” has meant pushing myself to take that extra step, whether it be in the classroom, in extracurriculars on campus, and within Greensboro as a whole. “Honors” means acting with integrity and sincerity in everything I do and taking the initiative to make the most of the opportunities before me because I know my time in college is fleeting. After graduation, I hope to carry the “Honors” ideals with me, striving to do my best, while caring for and supporting those around me.
