How did you know the Honors College was right for you?
I’d heard good things about the Honors College at UNCG and I was attracted to the tight-knit community that it’s known for. I was initially a bit hesitant about going to school so close to home but once I got to know more people, I felt that I’d made the right decision coming here.

What has been your favorite Honors experience so far?
I really enjoyed presenting at the Honors Symposium. I received a lot of encouragement from my peers and professors and that helped me overcome the anxiety that I had about presenting. It was a great experience and seeing people that I was familiar with come to hear me talk about a topic that I found very interesting made me feel excited and confident. I would definitely do it again and recommend it to anyone else who might be considering it.

What does “Honors” mean to you now that you are here at UNCG?
To me, Honors is about community. I think that the best thing about being in the Honors College is being surrounded by like-minded academics and being able to express my opinions and hear others’ in a positive setting. I have made so many friends within the community and I have immeasurable appreciation for the people that have supported me and helped me come this far. I hope to do the same for others in the future.
