How do artists, dancers, improvisers, and designers create trans-disciplinary, inclusive communities with colleagues in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)? How do scientists, engineers, technologists, physicians, and mathematicians inspire the artistic process? Now imagine creating a space without such boundaries or labels.
The Cultivating Ensembles (CE; formerly CESTEMER) community gathers people who create compelling learning environments by deeply engaging across the arts, humanities, and sciences. Activities include bi-annual conferences and, more recently, Coffee Chats. CE builds a unique professional development environment where innovators learn from one another’s practice and celebrate the interwoven nature of sciences, technologies, humanities, and arts as human activities. People imagining, creating, and exploring the world together is at the heart of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine, and the multitude of arts.
