What’s your favorite thing about being an Honors student?
Honors students have this strange and innate ability to be able to find each other that I absolutely love. Across campus, and even in my non-honors classes, I always seem to find and befriend people that just seem cool and friendly at first, but after a few conversations, I often find out that they are also in the Honors college! The Honors community is so welcoming and can be found everywhere on campus, and I think that’s so beautiful and special!
What’s your favorite thing about Greensboro?
Greensboro has so many cute little shops, and the shop owners love to make conversation. I go to the farmer’s market every week, and I have a list of my favorites little stores downtown that I stop in at just to catch up with the shop owners. Top of my list would have to be Gate City Yarns, The Farmer’s Wife, and Scuppernong Books!
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I’ve always wanted to take a summer and travel to lots of different countries in Europe since they’re so close together!
My advice for prospective Honors students is….
Get to know your professors! Honors and non-Honors professors at UNCG are so friendly and supportive if you reach out to them outside of class. I’ve been able to access really cool research opportunities and new friendships just by going to my professors’ office hours and talking to them about what I’m interested in and what they are interested in, so I highly encourage you to take advantage of this awesome opportunity to be surrounded by so many experts in so many different fields!
