Caitlin Smith is a second-year student in the Women’s, Genders and Sexuality Studies M.A. program. She is from Harmony, NC, but currently resides in Greensboro with her dog Buzz. Caitlin earned her B.A. in Gender, Women, and Sexuality studies with a minor in Global Studies from Appalachian State University in 2021. At UNCG she is involved in the Graduate Student Association and has been involved in previous projects with the Humanities Network and Consortium. Her research interests include black matriarchy, queer animality, and alternate pedagogy.  In her free time, Caitlin enjoys reading, thrifting, and volunteering.
